Australians have a habit of shortening lots of words. We don't eat breakfast, we have 'brekkie', we don't watch football, we go to the 'footy', we don't work as a truck driver, we're a 'truckie', and, of course, Australians are true blue 'Aussies'.
So it was really no surprise that when Arthur Rossiter and his family started making boots, initially from an Adelaide backyard tin shed in 1910, the 'Rossiter Boot' soon became a 'ROSSI'.
The toughness of Rossis quickly became legendary and, for many years, the military, who know a tough boot when they see one, were the company's major customer.
Even though they have been around a long time Aussies have kept Rossis as a bit of a local secret but the word is spreading.
I have had loads of emails, either from Australians overseas or from people who have visited Australia and fallen in love with a pair of Rossis whilst here.
AUSSIE ROSSIS ROCK!
Note: Most ROSSIS are noticeably narrower than most Blundstones and Redbacks and some styles such as the Endura use real half sizes.
I have retired from selling boots and the url bootsaustralia.com is now for sale (contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for genuine enquiries).
